School Culture

and Health Networks

They go hand in hand

‘School is the most important thing in our lives at the moment. We spend five days of our week here. If someone isn’t comfortable in their environment, they definitely won’t access the health network”

The culture of an institution such as high school, plays a key role in shaping the attitudes and behaviour of its students. It is therefore, integral to deciding their reaction to youth-based health promotions and their approach to health systems. The collective attitudes of all factions of the school community towards school culture, needs to be continually investigated, in order to assess the effectiveness of a school’s health network.
